Hello!

Name: Carl aka The Grey Ghost
Most Frequently Given Answer: No, I'm not into Batman... why?
Age: 32
Occupation: Manager at Starbucks
Why Am I Here: Looking for fun in that serious, geeking out on some minor facet of the game way... yeah, you know the type!

I see myself as being more publicly involved soon, but I'm currently consuming as much information as possible.  I RTFM before I shoot my mouth off :)

See all of you around!

I should probably have posted this weeks ago, but I'm Joey Michaels and I've been playing the game for about a month, but haven't managed to get involved much.  I would like to find more things to do than just work, train and buy food.  I confess, I'm still a little lost.  :/

Hello-
My real name is Charles. Godinger is the brand name of a fondue set that my girlfriend brought home as I was setting up my account! :D I'm on day 2 here in eRep. So far I have trained/worked but I am saving to buy a gift to get my wellness up.

Welcome Charles and I hope you enjoy your stay. For the record you only recieve wellness when you recieve a gift, so when you buy one you need to find someone to trade with or it will do you no good. If you have any questions feel free to ask and get active on the forum and IRC chat as it is the fastest way to make friends and find out what you need to know.

Right. I saw that Group Services United Inc. will allow you to send them the gift and they will send it right back to you. That counts as receiving a gift, correct? I want to make sure I'm not getting scammed here!  ???

Hey Charles, good to see you here.  Don't be too worried about your Wellness on day 2.  If you've worked both days in the same industry, you should now be skill level 1, and if you keep working every day, in four more days you should be skill level 2.  By then, you should be able to get a raise or a better job.

Make sure you eat.  Not eating will cost you 2 Wellness (on top of the Wellness you would have gained from the food.  If you're really concerned about your Wellness, or don't have money for food, send your boss an in-game private message (PM) and ask him if he can send you one.  Your Wellness affects your productivity at work, so it's to his advantage to keep your Wellness from falling off a cliff!

Definitely not a scam.  It does work that way; I've used it myself.  They may also be able to help you out with a little extra (though I'm not part of the group, so I can't commit them to that).  The USWP Hand to Hand Program will also provide the same service.

Yeah. With my 5USD starting money and the money from my first day at work, I bought 2 hotdogs and 2 beers. Haha. I know that it doesn't make any difference but I still thought it was funny! It makes sense that your wellness is proportional to your productivity. Perhaps my boss will give me a gift. Although he has 300some employees. I think I'm a lumberjack but I can't really remember. lol

I like to consider the Q1 food eRamen Noodles or eMac-n-Cheese.  Reminds me of my college days, when I lived on $2 per week for food!

Hahaha! Those are the days I'm living now! I'll graduate college this spring but I'm currently laid off!  >:( That is why I'm spending all day hanging out on these forums. When I go back to work my online time will drop.

I think that I am going to quit my eJob in construction and try and find one in land/oil. Those jobs seem to make better money overall. Another question I had was: if you build skill points in one field and end up opening a business; should you stay in the same field or do your skill points not affect your business?

Hey,

I just joined the game. Glad to be a part of the eUSA although from what I hear the country is currently going through a couple of problems but hopefully we can all pull this thing through and make this the best country there is!

Introduction/Hello Thread
« Reply #49 on: February 13, 2009, 09:55:57 PM »
So, not that I don't love welcoming newbies to get my post count up...But we've been getting alot of "Hello" threads clogging up this board. I propose we try and condense them into this one topic.

Whether you're new or old and want to introduce yourself, or just say Hi, this is the place to do it. If you want to welcome those who are saying Hi, feel free to do that as well.

Thanks!

Also, I know wee have a "Welcoming Committee" board, but obviously very few people notice it. If you don't want a thread like this here, than I suggest putting that board at the TOP of the page.

Hi all, new to this game, very excited for it, I have invested a lot of time in the past into online strategy games, and also politics and international affairs in my own personal life. I still dont know all the ins and outs of the dynamics of the game but I'm a quick learner and eager to get involved in the government/political system. If anyone has any good ideas on how to get my feet wet I would love to know them!
Thanks,

Greetings!
I am new to this game and it seems like a great community. In the past I have spent alot of time on online strategy games such as ogame, astrowars and planetarium. I am looking forward to getting involved in the political system and being active. If anyone has any tips or tricks in getting started that would be very appreciated. Thanks!

There is one on the welcoming committee board. A gift exchange is literally an exchange of gifts between two players. Once two players are paired up, they each offer each other wellness (typically q1, but that number can be readjusted by the two parties).

This is the second "introduce yourself" I'll be posting to on the boards, but hey everyone! My name is Shell Marie, and I am 2 edays old :) I did purchase the unlock all features package, and I'm super excited to say that I've been reading a ton of newspapers and schooled myself on the current Party President elections... I voted for my first time today as an eAmerican!
