Heya! Signed up to eRepublik about 3 days ago. I'm orignally from Estonia but well, my country is not on the eMap, so i have to live somewhere else - so, i'm living in eUSA, New York.

I'm really excited to see different aspects of the game, it seems really interesting.

So, hello!

I'm another new guy.

My erepublik name is Danny Dennison, but I'm daveroswell pretty much everywhere else.  I game all over; I'm on boardgamegeek, brettspielwelt, and a bunch of other boards (mostly as daveroswell...)

I've been on a computer RPG kick lately.  This looks interesting if I can get past the startup of the whole thing.

Hope to talk to you guys more in the coming months.

Oh, and I like smileys...

Thanks for the warm welcome...

My main question is: is there any way to gain health other than spending a boatload of real money???  Having to spend a lot of money to start up may be a dealbreaker for me...

No, you don't have to spend any real money, I haven't.  But you will have to suffer through a week or two of low wellness while you wait for your earning potential to rise.  Once you get to skill 2 you should be able to earn enough money to raise your wellness above 50.  When you attain level 6, you'll get 5 gold and will be able to buy a house.  A house is like a wellness factory, it's p cool.

After I bought a Q1 house with my gold from hitting 6 most of my dire health problems went away eating Q2 food.  If you're lucky there will be more battles than there are now in the future and if you live in Florida, you can attack once (-10 wellness) and use the hospital (+50 wellness).  I wasn't so lucky and had to blow a weeks worth of wages on getting gifts for myself.   :(
Also, stick with working in Q1 industries if you're short on money as they only reduce your working wellness by 1.

Hello all! I joined a few days ago and managed to get two friends to join. Here's hoping they get to level 6. I need to buy some wellness packs. I've been reading up all I can, and there is a lot to read. Unfortunately, I will be two EP short of level 6 tomorrow which means I can't vote. But please, shower me with gifts anyway! :)

Uhm, no need to buy wellness pack, that's a really expensive way to buy wellness.  Case in point:  you can buy about 20 gifts Q1 for 1 gold.  That's worth 20 wellness.  It costs 2 gold to get a wellness pack worth 10 wellness.  Gifts are 4 times as effective.

Second case in point.  You can get a Q1 house for about 3 gold.  It will give you 1 wellness per day (more or less) forever.  So, after two weeks it's far superior to a wellness pack.

Welcome everbody.  I just wanted to second what OneEye said (as usual).  Wellness packs are generally for use by people trying to do extreme amounts of damage in battle.  They are very expensive relative to the other ways there are to gain Wellness.  On top of that, they're kind of an introvert's option in this game.  Get out there and find some folks to exchange gifts with, to make friends and start exploring the social networking aspect of the game.  Or look back at some of the posts on Wellness and game mechanics here in the forums (OneEye in particular has posted lots) or in some of the newspapers (might I suggest my paper, The Daily Noobs?).  Learning the different and most cost effective ways to boost your Wellness is going to pay off more than the Wellness packs.

That said, Wellness packs are awesome when you're in a battle!

Feel free to ask questions here, or send PMs in-game to players who have been around for a while- most people here are very willing to help.

Hey, I'm here just...introducing myself. I love politics and hope that once I reach a high enough level, I can begin participating in elections and hopefully Congress.

I've tried to find an online nation/world simulation game that actually works and is interesting, and I believe I've found the one.

Parohm, here. I'm real excited about leveling up since it takes quite a bit of that to get to do some of the cool things. I made a comment in another thread about my thoughts on improving the welcome message, but I do thank the welcome committee because without the current message I wouldn't have found this forum. thanks a ton.

Welcome Henry and Parohm!  You seem to both be interested in leveling up. Just keep working and training, as well as keeping food in your inventory and you'll be up the ranks in no time!

Welcome! Do you work and train daily? Those are the two point sources you have at this level. Additionally, do you have an avatar? That's 2xp!

I suggest networking and joining things like the national guard, that has been a big help to me early on in the game. They have been there to answer questions and help me out when I in a really bad situation money or wellness wise(usually a combination of the two)

Yet another newbie here - think I've got a grip on the basics, so that's a start. Anyway, just saying "hi" and hoping I don't manage to get myself killed somewhere here.   :D
