So how do you think the new players who will be joining during v2 react since we will be figuring it out ourselves?

well if you ask newbie's who have mentors like me, not so good, we kind of depend on the advices given by our mentors, and if they themselves are figuring v2 out, it'll make our adjustments twice as hard :s

Possibly better since we wont be so dogmatic and condescending to noobs about how the game should be played.

Hopefully so, we just have to make sure we don't start searching for RL connections, or we'll be back to square 1.

Agreed.

Better for new players who want to play in depth. Starting out in a game when you have people who have been playing for a year make it harder to catch up. A new version narrows the distance.

I'm starting to get active again because I'm a little excited for V2.  It's sure to be a huge letdown when my inventory is lost, my job is gone, no one will have an offer on the market, and I won't be able to train.  It may cause me to rage (not quit, just rage.  Rage quits are for fgts) then I'll grow to love the game just as I grew to love V1.  But Beta will still be best.  Just sayin' what the old folks are thinking.

That and there are things to be learned, methods to be optimized, etc.  Learning how to play a game by playing is much more interesting than reading guides or being mentored.

i agree but it's still pretty cool to have someone you can talk to when you suddenly become really really really lost (which sadly quite often happens to me) :p

Looking forward to the new personalities.

We have had such terrible retention rates as of late. Maybe the new version will help pick it up and attract some more interesting people.

I think we will get a good baby boom once V2 starts up properly. Hopefully the admins will advertise again like they did with V1. The V1 baby boom brought in not only a lot of players, but a lot of good ones.

I don't see this becoming a news item like the V1 launch.

Don't you know that the game will glitch to the point that you can't train, work, fight or do anything but buy gold.  2 clicking will turn into "Click Buy Gold" and "Click Pay" and yet some of us will still play... We must be dumb :D

If one of those presents blindfolds you, spins you around, and takes your wallet, yes.

The game will appear to have greater depth than now. I think we'll lose a lot of the "is this all I do?" issue. On the other hand we will gain a considerable amount of "wtf am I supposed to do?"

I would imagine the two would even each other out for the time being.

You guys don't understand how little there is to do in V2. What took you 2 minutes to do now takes you 5 minutes, unless you fight. But it's kinda hard to fight for hours in a day. Very few people will do that. V2 will not attract new people that want to spend hours playing a game. It will not change anything besides screwing over the economy. And losing players, but that can be reversed.
And I get surprisingly little hate mail considering I bomb defenseless Hungarian babies for a living.
