I can see it, but I don't think a lot of people notice it. I'd like to see more mods make use of it when editing.

What if we need to edit the reason for editing? in all seriousness though I know I will use it when I edit stuff in the future.  ;D

Two of the specific uses I imagined for this function:

1) Moderators may  leave notes as to why a message was modified, and leave their name as well.

2) Congresspersons can leave a note as to why they edited a proposal on last edit.
