Flying Unicorn unresponsive
« on: October 12, 2009, 11:02:38 AM »
I just started a few days ago, in Georgia - didn't know any better. Per instructions here, I sent a message to the Flying Unicorn company requesting a moving ticket so I can move to Florida, but have not heard anything back. I should hit level 5 tomorrow and would like to be able to participate in battles (are there any battles happening these days?) What would you all recommend? I may be able to barely afford a Q1 ticket tomorrow if I'm lucky, but I'm worried that will drop my wellness too low to fight.

I just sent you one I had laying around. CA or FL. Not sure if there will be any battles soon, but you'll need to move eventually.

Turned 5, moved, fought, and healed. eLife is good. Thanks again for the ticket.

Now I'm trying to figure out 1) what's is the optimal order for working, training, fighting, and healing each day- obviously fighting comes before healing, but should I work and train before or after? Or does it not matter either way?

Also... if I can get back 50 health from hospitals every day, why would I ever bother with a house or with food higher than Q1?

Houses help most when there aren't constant battles. You can only use a hospital on days you fight.

Work before you fight, otherwise you'll have low wellness and will get fired. Train before you fight if it kicks you up a level (I think?). Training is the one thing of the three that isn't improved by high wellness, so you can train at low wellness. But if I don't train right after I work, I'm afraid I will forget. So I Work-Train-Fight-Heal.

Also: be careful on multiple login days. Sometimes you forget you already healed that morning, or maybe you think you worked in the morning but didn't. Routines are nice.

So generally: Work, Fight, Train, Heal. But sometimes you end the day at low wellness, so you have to fight-heal-work-fight more-train. And sometimes you want to get fired....

tl;dr version:
-Work at your peak wellness each day. This may or may not require fighting then healing first
-Train before you fight. The damage increase from gaining strength outweighs the damage lost from losing a point of wellness in most cases.

Like Prop Joe said, higher Q food and houses are much more necessary when there are no battles to fight in (one of the reasons we like to have regular training battles).

edit: I would encourage you to read and vote up this article if you're interested in a more detailed description of how you should fight: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/war-fighting-101-975986/1/20

It has been proven by calculation that for people with strength 4 and under that training before fighting is the optimal strategy. For ppl with STR that is over 4, it's optimal to train after fighting but before healing.

Work/train/fight/heal  is the most common order.

you should always work at your highest possible wellness that could mean working after healing
its better to train before you fight, because the single lost wellness is somewhat balanced out by the increase in strength - either way it's minimal.

If you use gifts, they should be used first or last ie: Fight 5 times, heal +50, fight once, gift +10 or fight once, gift +10, fight 5 times, heal +50.  That way you get two of your best fights with the highest damage output.
