Note: eRepublik had a masssive update on July 5, much of this original post is out of date.-- Herr Vootsman, 7/8/2010
(original post)
eRepublik can be a bit of a challenge to start off. Thats why the eUSA has set up and entire slew of programs to help players such as yourself get through the first rough weeks.
In this thread you will be able to find a fairly comprehensive guide to all of the programs and ways you can get help in whatever aspect of the game you need it, including:
Help understanding the game
Find yourself a mentor to guide you through your eRepublik "childhood"
Free Moving Tickets to move to a Q5 hospital region
Free food to get you on your feet
Free gifts to help you if you find yourself in a wellness slump
Educate yourself at our own university

Have Questions, Need Answers? There are multiple ways that you can find the answers to whatever questions you may have.
InfoHub: My personal favorite source of information. Over there, you can find the
article repository, which includes a treasure chest of different guides and FAQs written by fellow players. It also includes a lot of other information about the eUSA, the government, and eRepublik in general. The answer to nearly any question you may have is likely found there.
Infohub is a must see for all new players.
Wiki: eRepublik has its own fairly comprehensive wiki available online, found
here. When looking for information, the
eUSA Department of Education page is a great place to start!
Forums: If you ever find yourself with a question, you can always feel free to ask by making your own thread here on the
Welcoming Committee Forums. You can also check out the
eUSA Department of Education section of these forums if you would like to search for the answer yourself.
IRC: We have set up our own IRC channel just for answering questions anyone may have. For those of you who do not know what IRC is, its basically like a chatroom/IM type of deal. You can easily access it
in this thread, just change your "username" to you eRepublik character name, and the channel to "USA-NOOBS", then click connect!
Mentor: Another great way to get any questions answered is to
apply for a mentor. This is a great resource for new players, as it allows you to not only find the answers to questions you may have, but maybe even learn about mistakes you didnt know you were making

Are you in California or Florida? You should be!
While we would all like to live in our real life home states, its become fairly clear to players that in order for America competitive, both militarily and economically, you have to live in a state with a Q5 (5 star) hospital. That is why the eUSA has built two Q5 hospitals, one in California and one in Florida - so that people are able to
fight and raise their wellness for free.
Unfortunately Q5 hospitals are very expensive, so they cannot be placed on ever region in America, so if you started somewhere other than California of Florida, we need to get you there A.S.A.P!
Fortunately, we here at the Welcoming Committee recognize that at the start of the game, it can be a huge financial burden to have to buy a moving ticket to do so. We will send you, free of charge, a moving ticket to send you on your way. Seems like a pretty good deal to me, a free ticket to such lovely sunny states as California or Florida and free health care!
If you just started and do not live in either Florida or California, contact the USA Welcoming Committee for a free moving ticket to get to either of those regions A.S.A.P._____________________________________________________________________________
Interested in some Free Food?Of course you are. Everyone loves free food! Thanks to the
Meals on Wheels program you can get some too!
Recognizing that it can be pretty tough to survive on your meager first-job paycheck, another great program that the eUSA brings to its citizens is access to the Meals on Wheels program. The Meals on Wheels program is around for the sole purpose of providing food to newer players, so there is no worry of starvation in our country.
There are a couple of requirements though...You must:
Be an eUSA citizen
Be under 1 month of age
Have no awards
Have a job
Live in the eUS
Have a Wellness Below 70
Thats all! So basically...
Follow this link to get some free food from Meals on Wheels!_____________________________________________________________________________
Cant get your wellness above 40?Anyone who has read a
fight guide understands the importance of having your wellness above 40. Unfortunately, many players often find that out too late, or find themselves below 40 wellness for other reasons (such as working at a high Quality job, or having to move regions to California or Florida).
That is why the Welcoming Committee has the
Gift Exchange available to all players!
The
gift exchange serves three roles.
First of all, you can donate your gifts to that organization, and if you send a PM stating how many gifts you send, what quality they were, and that youd like them gifted back to yourself, the
eUSA Welcoming Committee will make it happen!
The second role is to help bring players wellness above 40 if theyve fallen into the "sub 40" trap. The sooner you can make it up to 40 wellness, the sooner you can bring it up to 100 wellness for free, nearly instantly! (well, if you live in a Q5 hospital region that is...)
The third role of the Gift Exchange is to welcome new players. We <3 you, so you get a free gift anyways, just ask!
For free gifts for those who qualify, or a gifting partner, check out the eUSA Gifting Exchange!_____________________________________________________________________________
Interested in taking some classes?eRepublik can be a very simple or complex game, depending on how in depth you personally want to go into it.
To help those that are interested in learning about the more complex aspects of the game, players have created our very own university,
North American University!
While eRepublik is a simulator for real life, you will learn as you play more that there are significant differences between real life and eRepublik.
North American University will help you learn about subjects like business, economics, history, politics, current affairs, and much more...but only as they related to eRepublik!
Unfortunately, one of the negative effects of having the best and brightest professors is they often have other responsibilities in government, and with the war that is currently raging across the world - are unable to teach classes at the moment. While the university is currently on hiatus, it is going to return as soon as possible, and sooner if enough people demand it
If you are interested in taking classes at our very own North American University, and would like to be informed when the haitus is over, let us know here!_____________________________________________________________________________
Welcome to the eUSA!By finding your way onto the eUSA forums, you are already on your way to a great eRepublik life.
Good luck in whatever endeavors you pursue, and I hope to see you around the eUS forums more!
-Choc
This thread is by no means comprehensive, and if there are any other programs available that you feel should be added to this list, feel free to PM the USA Welcoming Committee with details, including requirements and links to any forms/applications
Any other mod, feel free to update this thread as necessary
